I was standing in the queue for the bank
Waiting I watched the reptilian fuckers in front eating out the brains of the sad shit in the booth
I had been in line for 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 days now and there was no signs of movement
I envied and grew to loath those in front of me in the queue
With their self-satisfied dinner jackets and smug little evening dresses
They had everything I wanted
Each successive one of them closer to the front
If I could even be one place closer…
I dreamed about killing the man in front of me
He used his position to mock me
I couldn’t do it though
They’d only put me to the back of the queue
That’s no way to live
I tried to pity those behind me in the queue
But I all could muster was a wet disgust for them
They’d probably gladly kill me and risk getting sent to the back
Their position is so worthless and frail already
My memory fails me for the most part of my time at the back
It creeps in at night to make sure I never sleep
I remember when the first person appeared behind me in the queue
It was power
The lights began to flicker at one point during my time in the bank
Then the whole place was in darkness
And a funny thing happened…
Nobody moved
Light began to pour through a crack in reality
The crack spread open like legs
Everyone in the bank stared into the open portal
Each of us saw
Inside there was a garden of all earthly and heavenly delight
I saw all my wildest fantasies moving, alive and real
One hundred naked angels beckoned me into the sun
But then the bank opened up another cashiers booth
The queue moved forward one space in front
It might only take another year or two now
I stared again into the portal
But everyone in front moved forward
I was going to lose my place
I stepped forward in the queue
The portal closed
And so did the first booth.
